… but if you show partiality, you commit sin, and are convicted by the law as transgressors.

James 2:9

I do not like to call this man a false preacher. He has not done anything so evil, that deserves him to be labelled as false and neither did he do anything adverse to me nor my family. Therefore, I shall stick to addressing him with his title, as a man of God. Reverend Sim Tze Tian is the senior pastor of Diakonia Christian Church in Rawang, Malaysia, the same church where Tam Wah Fiong came from, the ex-pastor responsible for the scandal that rocked the town Rawang, about 3 years ago.

What Tam and his followers did to my son and I at the factory, does not really bother me. The people who masterminded the plot to accuse us, whether they came from our ex-church or from Diakonia, is not really important. How badly we suffered, being told to explain and to parade ourselves in shame for months for doing nothing wrong, that can be easily forgiven. Or how much time, resources and money we lost, again as a result of doing nothing wrong, that too can be forgotten.

But if pastors and church leaders come out in the open, and start implying that we are the evil ones, or anyone name-calling us as snakes, serpents or rattlesnakes, then they better be on guard and be prepared to explain why they said what they have said. Make no mistake, I only mentioned pastors and church leaders. If other ordinary believers does this, I do not deem it as necessary to pursue them. In fact, other than pastors and preachers, I have not named anyone else openly in this blog. But, not in the case of pastors. As leaders, they are public property, and believers have the right to hold them accountable for every word that comes out from their mouths, if they speak without ground, and especially if they say or imply anyone as evil without evidence.

Kindly Show Me Where It Is Written In The Bible

In his sermon today, Reverend Sim spoke about the devil’s influence in this world. I’m not going to talk much about what he said concerning the devil’s powers during end times or demon-possessed bananas, as what Reverend Sim mentioned in part of his sermon. And yes, he did talk about demon-possessed bananas, go check it out yourself at Diakonia’s Facebook page, from 42:30 in this link (https://fb.watch/fCIjCKvslI/), if you are keen to go into the details of what he said about bananas.

But I would like to highlight what Rev Sim said concerning the devil, who according to him, constantly does things to remind us of our sins. In his own words, Reverend Sim said, “So the devil will accuse us of our sins and to remind us that God is displeased with us, and surely you have lost your hope and salvation. Sometimes we think that it is in our mind, but it happens, the accusation of the evil one.”

So, anyone who listens to his sermon, shall I say, would reasonably assume that it is the devil’s fault, constantly doing or causing to be done, things that persistently remind us of our sins, with the intention to make us lose our confidence in God? I use the word confidence, because technically, a true believer who is saved, cannot lose his salvation merely because the devil, or his agents or someone else whispered to him, and reminded him of his past sins. And if any believer lands himself in hell eventually, there could only be two possibilities, that he committed very serious offenses that God had no alternative but to turn away from him (Matthew 12:31-32, Mark 3:28-30 & Hebrews 10:26-29), or he thought he was saved but actually he wasn’t.

Next, he implicitly said that the devil and his agents, use people who are fond of dabbling in dark, spiritual forces, to pursue believers to remind them of their sins, and thus causing them to lose their self-confidence.

Therefore, I pose this question to Reverend Sim Tze Tian, can you show me in which part of the Bible, it is written and documented the fact that the devil, or through any of his agents, came to any man in person, to specifically remind them of their sins in order to derail them from their faith, or from their belief in God?

Not The Devil But The Scripture Itself Is Constantly Reminding Us Of Our Sins

If the devil, is as cunning as he is mentioned in the Bible (Genesis 3:1), and if his mission is to deceive anyone against their will and to drag them to hell with him, it would have been silly of the devil to even say to anyone that they did wrong after they have sinned. Because if he had done so, he would have told them the truth and not deceived them.

The devil in fact, does completely the opposite, he tells people that sinning is okay and disobeying God is the perfect thing for everyone to be doing. In Genesis 3:1-24, the Bible gave us the full account of how the devil deceived Eve, by telling her, did God really say she cannot eat from the tree of knowledge. After both Adam and Eve fell, the devil disappeared and never came back to tell them that what they did was wrong. But it was God who came to them to tell them what they did was wrong and it was God who demonstrated, how displeased He was with them.

And when Jesus Himself was tempted, it was the devil who said to Him, everything will be okay, even if you throw yourself from top down, God will send his angels to save Him and that He will never fall or suffer a single stone (Matthew 4:3-6). This is exactly what our pastors and preachers (including Rev Sim), are doing today in our churches, speaking false confidence into the ears of believers; don’t worry about your sins, everything will be fine, as long as you have said you believe, your salvation is assured and intact. And these preachers speak as though they are the ones who decide, who gets to go to heaven, and not Christ.

At the well, Jesus Himself reminded the Samaritan woman of her sins (John 4:18). Also, pretty much of the whole Bible consistently reminds man of their sins, so that they will repent and turn away from them (Genesis 41:9. Ezekiel 21:24, Ezekiel 36:31, Hebrews 10:3).

And no preacher ever highlight to any believer that the Scripture made it all too clear, that no fornicator, unclean person, covetous man, idolaters, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God (Ephesians 5:5). And no preacher warns anyone that cowards, unbelievers, the abominable ones, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall eventually be thrown into the lake of fire and brimstone (Revelation 21:8).

Who Exactly Are Those That Are Of The Devil?

This is going to be short and very easy to answer. In 1 John 3:8, the Scripture said it clearly, that whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. And all sins and practices of sin comes from the devil and people who do these things are the ones, truly the byproduct of the devil. As such, there’s a very good reason why the Bible kept reminding us of our sins, so that we don’t sin anymore, we stay away from sin and we do not become of the devil, and doing the things that he does.

I have heard of demons entering man or hogs, but bananas???

But no, this is not what pastors and preachers taught us, including Rev Sim himself. He said, those of the devil are those who dabble in things of the dark spiritual world, and probably that’s why holding or eating demon-possessed bananas, could have severe effects on him, described by him as a sudden oppression in the chest. And by praying against the spiritual forces that he claims is inside the bananas, it helps him ward off the evil that is presumptuously attacking him.

Excuse me, if you are suffering from shortness of breath after holding or eating fresh bananas, please go have your checkup, because symptoms of shortness of breath is no small joke nowadays. With this, it also gave me a very good picture, where Diakonia’s ex-pastor, Tam Wah Fiong got all his superstitious ideas from, which were the basis he used to launch all his personal attacks on my son and I from Diakonia’s pulpit, and calling us demons and people used by the devil.

Rev Sim also discussed a lot concerning accusing others or to accuse. But some of my regular readers have been complaining, that lately my “essays” are getting too long for their comfort. Therefore, I shall discuss that topic about accusing others as preached by Rev Sim, on another day, with a new post.

I wish to suggest this to Rev Sim; you are one of the last few ones standing in Diakonia, who has a pretty decent record of preaching the truth. Therefore, please do not deviate from the truth, and do not demonstrate partiality. Because if you do that, your position as a godly leader, then becomes questionable (James 2:9).

Encourage your pastors (and ex-pastors) to do what is right and honorable, so that they need not live in fear or doubt. When one is feeling remorseful of their sins, it is the Holy Spirit who is convicting them (John 16:8), prompting them to do what is right. This is in fact a good thing, because if they do what is right and honorable, it will lead them to life, and away from death. And no, it is not the devil who is reminding us of our sins, but the Holy Spirit Himself. He can’t stand anything less than a clean heart and without clean hearts, how do we expect Him to indwell in us? (Psalm 51:10)

God’s Law Is The Biggest Thing In Life That Reminds Us Of Our Sins

Just as it takes sadness to know happiness & noise to appreciate silence, do not forget what is written in the Bible, that the other biggest thing in life that keeps reminding us of our sins, IS NOT THE DEVIL, BUT GOD’S LAWS! So, any more doubts why even Christians hate to have anything to do with God’s Laws (Romans 7:7)? Because unless one fully experience the fullness of hating the Law and being consistently reminded by it of his sins, the common man would probably have much difficulty trying to understand the fullness of God’s true love.

For it is written, love fulfills the Law, and if we translate this correctly, it means to obey God’s Commandments is the same as loving God and loving our neighbors. True love according to Scripture is actionable and truthful; true love demonstrates itself by inflicting no harm to God and to our neighbors (Romans 13:10). By not stealing, cheating, lying or coveting our neighbors, we are not doing harm to people around us. And by obeying God’s Commandments, we are embracing true love in action and in truth. Thus by being obedient, we fulfill the requirements of God’s Commandments, because we truly love God and we genuinely love our neighbors.
