The LORD loves righteousness and justice;
the earth is full of his unfailing love.

Psalm 33:5

God is just, and that is an indisputable fact, and it is one of the characteristics that make him the Sovereign God. As humans, most of us hate to see others mistreating or taking advantage of others.

Justice for us means that people will get what they deserve, but many times we also forfeit justice for friendship, bribery, and even based on our emotions.

However, we serve a God who is passionate about justice and requires that his followers demonstrate this characteristic in our dealing with others.

The Bible prolifically speaks about justice and HIS love for what is right and just.

When justice is done, it brings joy to the righteous but terror to evildoers. (Proverbs 21:15)

Whoever says to the guilty, “You are innocent,” will be cursed by peoples and denounced by nations. But it will go well with those who convict the guilty, and rich blessing will come on them. (Proverbs 24:24-25)

Evildoers do not understand what is right, but those who seek the LORD understand it fully. (Proverbs 28:5)

I said in my heart, “God shall judge the righteous and the wicked, For there is a time there for every purpose and for every work.” (Ecclesiastes 3:17)

For we know Him who said, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. And again, “The Lord will JUDGE His people.” (Hebrews 10:30)

But let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream! (Amos 5:24)

Turn from evil and do good; then you will dwell in the land forever. For the LORD loves the just and will not forsake his faithful ones. Wrongdoers will be completely destroyed ; the offspring of the wicked will perish. The righteous will inherit the land and dwell in it forever. (Psalm 37:27-29)

Yet the LORD longs to be gracious to you; therefore he will rise up to show you compassion. For the LORD is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for him! (Isaiah 30:18)

He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. (Micah 6:8)

“For I, the LORD, love justice; I hate robbery and wrongdoing. In my faithfulness I will reward my people and make an everlasting covenant with them. Their descendants will be known among the nations and their offspring among the peoples. All who see them will acknowledge that they are a people the LORD has blessed.” (Isaiah 61:8-9)

Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. He said: “In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared what people thought. And there was a widow in that town who kept coming to him with the plea, ‘Grant me JUSTICE against my adversary.’ “For some time he refused. But finally he said to himself, ‘Even though I don’t fear God or care what people think, yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justice, so that she won’t eventually come and attack me!’ ” And the Lord said, “Listen to what the unjust judge says. And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?” (Luke 18:1-8)
