In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

Matthew 6:9-13

This instruction from Jesus teaches us six unique steps to prayer:-

  • Address God appropriately as the Father.
  • Praise God for who he is and what he has done.
  • Acknowledge that God’s plan is in control, not ours.
  • Ask God for what we need.
  • Confess how we have sinned and repent with a humble heart.
  • Request God’s protection and support in overcoming the evil one’s attacks on our lives.

Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. May your Name, Christ Jesus, be placed in the highest forever. Lord, may Your kingdom come soon and may Your will, AND NOT OURS, be done, on earth where we stand and as in the heavens high above us.

Father, we come before You, though with our limited abilities, without fashion and without works worthy of mention in Your holy presence. What we have left, our wretched souls and our sins we bring before You and we ask for forgiveness. Lord, we concede we know not what we do.

Father, we acknowledge we have no right to even stand at your gates, not to mention even at Your throne before You. But we ask of You in Your grace, to look not at our deeds but instead to what Christ did for us at the Cross. He and Him alone is our only hope of coming and kneeling before Your mercy.

Father, we pray for provisions and we pray for supply of our daily needs. WE PRAY FOR GOOD HEALTH. We pray for wisdom to make right choices that leads us to life and not death. Father, we hold on to Your promise in James 1:5, that if we lack wisdom, we can freely ask the same from You, and that You’ve promised to give wisdom to us without condition. Teach us Holy Spirit.

Father in heaven, forgive us of our trespasses, for they are many and difficult for us to even count them. Teach us Lord, how we ought to confront them. Holy Spirit, do not turn Your face against us. But help us understand the consequences of sin, convict us and give us strength not to go back to our old past again.

Father in heaven, lead us not into temptation. For we admit we are weak and powerless. Do not subject us to tests that will bring us destruction. Do not deliver us into the hands of evil people nor give them power over us. Deal with us Lord, but do not surrender us to the wicked to be judged and condemned.

Father in heaven, Your are King of all kings and Lord or all lords and the kingdom is Yours and Yours alone. May all power and glory rest in Your righteous hands forever.

In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
